I agree with a lot of this; honestly I forgot sprint was in the game with how little I used it lmao. The Flood missions were almost entirely an upgrade over the OG though.
Especially the Library.
I really liked fighting the Flood true forms, surprisingly! Fighting the Flood as a whole was really fun, especially since you can shoot off their limbs and tear them to bits, its very reactive in a way the original couldn't be. The shotgun in CE was already one of my favorite weapons and, honestly, it's better in CEv.
The Pillar of Autumn ending cutscene was the worst in the main campaign, objectively. I don't know what drugs they were on when they made it -- the pacing is weird, the blocking is weirder, it's just... Not Good, and it feels almost AI-assisted in how weird it is.
I haven't played too much of the additional campaign missions yet, but while the environments look fine the encounters feel really weirdly balanced and the story/cutscenes is.... I can tell Troy Denning wrote it. That's the nicest thing I can say for it. I don't like
making the 343-designed Covvies genetic experiments, it feels weirdly disrespectful to the people who designed them and
how Lt. Williams changes to respecting Chief after two encounters; the ODST-Spartan rivalry runs deeper than that, and it probably should've taken longer.
I don't know who was doing the voice direction for this game but they should've been fired last year lmao.
