The current Russian tricolor has had quite a few variations throughout history. The most well-known one is the flag used between the August Coup (23 August 1991) and the adoption of the Constitution (25 December 1993), which has lighter shades and a ratio of 1:2. However, there were also other versions of this flag with different colors, since they weren't precisely specified, like the one attached to this post with darker colors than the current flag.
